The best way to fly from Europe is via/from Amsterdam: KLM, Corendon or TUIfly offer direct flights (approx. 9.5 hours). As always: compare prices!

From home, you should apply for the Digital Immigration Card from at least 7 days in advance, free of charge : https://dicardcuracao.com/dicard.
You should also install the Airside app on your mobile phone in advance and add your pass to it. This is only possible if your passport has an NFC-chip and is digitally readable (details: https://relaxedcuracao.com/news/curacao-express-pass-airside-digital-identity-app/). After applying for the Digital Immigration Card, you will be directed to create an Express Pass, which uses the Airside data.

Upon arrival at Hato Airport, proceed to passport control where you can use the e-gate with your Express Pass. Passport control only took a few minutes for us in June 2025.

Then you collect your luggage. This is followed by a short baggage check. Please note: You will have to lift your luggage onto a conveyor belt yourself. That´s it and the exit is waiting for you.

To connect to the internet on the island, you can buy a SIM/eSIM in the entrance hall of the airport, preferably from Digicel. Alternatively, we have had good experiences with eSIM from Airolo. The app is available in the IOS/Android app stores.

Cash is available from an ATM on the outside left. One guilder (XCG) is worth about 0.52 cents. However, you can also pay in dollars almost everywhere.

To get to the beautiful west, you will need a car (best to organise this in advance): The car hire companies at the airport tend to be more expensive than those a little further away. We had a good experience with D&D Car Rental. They picked us up at the airport and took us to their office, which was a 5-minute drive.

If you are staying longer than two weeks, another car rental company will be cheaper: LongTermCuracao: However, you will have a longer drive to their office (approx. 45 minutes). Taxis are available in front of the airport hall (about 45 dollars, as of 2024).

Then your holiday can begin: After a 25-minute drive, our domicile beckons.
