The best way to fly from Europe is via/from Amsterdam: KLM, Corendon or TUIfly offer direct flights (approx. 9.5 hours). As always: compare prices!

From home, you should apply for the Digital Immigration Card from at least 7 days in advance, free of charge : Digital Immigration Card.
Once you´ve arrived at Hato Airport, it’s time to go through the passport control: If it´s possible choose the e-gate, if you have this Digital Immigration Card.

Then you collect your luggage. This is followed by a short baggage check. Please note: You will have to lift your luggage onto a conveyor belt yourself. That´s it and the exit is waiting for you.

To connect to the internet on the island, you can buy a SIM/eSIM in the entrance hall of the airport, preferably from Digicel. Alternatively, we have had good experiences with eSIM from Airolo. The app is available in the IOS/Android app stores.

Cash is available from an ATM on the outside left. One Antillean guilder (ANG/Naf) is worth about 0.52 cents. However, you can also pay in dollars almost everywhere.

To get to the beautiful west, you will need a car (best to organise this in advance): The car hire companies at the airport tend to be more expensive than those a little further away. For a short rental time we had a good experience with D&D Car Rental. They picked us up at the airport and took us to their office, which was a 5-minute drive.

If you are staying longer, another car rental company will be cheaper: LongTermCuracao: However, you will have a longer drive to their office (approx. 45 minutes). Taxis are available in front of the airport hall (about 45 dollars, as of 2024).

Then your holiday can begin: After a 25-minute drive, our domicile beckons.
